Anurag Gupta

Hey there, I'm

Anurag Gupta — a software engineer who builds end to end.

Product, infrastructure, and applied AI systems. I scaled systems at a YC-backed startup, build platform infrastructure for biomedical research, and maintain open-source tooling for scientific workflows.

When I'm not shipping, I'm mentoring open-source contributors through Google Summer of Code or reading Greek mythology.

About

I'm Anurag Gupta, a software engineer working across the full stack: React and Next.js on the front end, Go, Python and Node on the back end, and Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm and Argo CD underneath. Most of what I ship is the whole vertical slice — interface, API, data model, and the pipeline that deploys it.

At Farmako (YC S20) I grew from intern to frontend lead and infrastructure owner, taking organic monthly impressions from 250k to over 20M, architecting inventory and ledger systems handling 10M+ operations a month, and building a production virtual-pharmacist agent on LangGraph that serves WhatsApp and in-app users.

At Pacific Analytics I owned platform automation for an AI-augmented biomedical research platform — Terraform, Helm and Ansible across six or seven environments, Kubernetes-backed workflow execution for federated bioinformatics, and a zero-trust access architecture built on Keycloak, Istio and OPA that replaced legacy VPN controls.

Outside paid work I maintain open-source tooling for scientific computing. I led Elixir Cloud Components — 20+ web components spanning eight GA4GH standards — and I write and maintain conops, Conquest, DataSlip, RedRush and Popy. I contributed to Google Summer of Code in 2021 and have mentored contributors every year since 2022, and I spoke at the GA4GH plenary in Sweden on federated systems and cloud interoperability.
